Permission from Copyright holder/contact Artist
This is our attempt at trying to contact the artist for permission to use their song. We managed to get a reply which gave us the permission that we wanted to allow us to use the song 'Afterglow' that the artist Wilkinson made.

Sources of Inspiration and Creativity
We want to use smooth, tracking shots, as seen in this video.
We like how the camera looks up at the singers, giving them authority.

This video below uses the kind of lighting we could use for the video. It is low key, but the colours and the way the shutters create shadows and lines make it very interesting.
This video below contains graphical overlays which are nearly exactly what we want to achieve in our video. The seamless integration makes this video stand out from other videos in its genre. It is very well executed, and has a conceptual tone which we would like to replicate.
We want to make a conceptual style music video, taking some ideas from this video below from Boardmasters 2017 Official Aftermovie. From 35 seconds, the colours, dancing and patterns created by the lights are all features we could take inspiration from.
The first 15 seconds of this music video below have inspired us in three ways. We would like to replicate a similar shot of the car pulling up, we like how the sound changes when the car door opens, mimicking what music sounds like from the outside (low pass filter). The third source of inspiration is the use of the album name in the video itself. This can be seen behind the car on the red sign (Pharmacy).
We would like to include a timelapse of the sunset in our video, as this links with the lyrics very well and is visually appealing, Here is an example of what we would like to achieve. The warm colour and lens flare make this timelapse satisfying to watch, although it is a redundant feature of many videos, it is tried and tested and works well.
We are thinking about the possibility of including stars in the video, at the end, for example. Although this image from Instagram is ideal, we do not have the time, facilities or equipment to take images like this one.
Instagram is a useful place to source inspiration from because many users publish the technical details of how they took the picture. This is useful for us because we can replicate these camera settings, and be sure to come up with similar results. Below is an image which is a little more achievable. We could look more at star trails, like the image shown below this one.
We like long exposure photography, making shapes and text with light. This is something which we would like to add to our music video. This particular image is the album cover of a song by David Guetta and Robin Schulz. The genre overlaps with Afterglow's, so it is likely to be a successful feature for our video.
Research on a Director
We are inspired by the work of award winning American director Hannah Lux Davis, who has worked on many popular music videos. He is best known for working with artists in our chosen genre: Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Hailee Steinfeld, Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, Little Mix, Jessie J, Tinashe and Lil Wayne. Below is an example of her work. We are inspired by her use of colour in the lighter flame, editing style, the use of colour and mise en scene. The way she experiments with shot variety, but still creates a seamless video, makes her work stand out from that of other directors.
This is our Lyric Analysis, We looked at the lyrics of the song we have chosen and then came up with ideas of inspiration that we could use in our music video.
Target Audience Profile
This is our target audience profile which shows us the general audience we are expecting our song to appeal to. Which is late teens around the age of 16-20 and in the lower demographics.

Filming Day
We filmed on Sunday the 12th of November. We went up to our location being Titterstone, Clee Hill. We went up in the morning at 7am so we could capture the sunrise. We set up the Camera and left it recording to capture the sunrise. The weather conditions were not the greatest as we had plenty of clouds, rain and snow. We stayed there for around an hour while capturing the sunrise. We then went back up again later to finish the rest of the filming which we achieved.
